AIFO Projects

AIFO supports projects and programmes in developing countries in collaboration with a wide variety of partners including - Governments, non-governmental organisations, faith-based organisations, community-based organisations and organisations of disabled persons in two main areas:

  • * Community health programmes and Fight against leprosy and rehabilitation of persons affected with leprosy
  • * Community-based Rehabilitation (CBR) and Community-based Inclusive Development projects dealing with vulnerable population groups with a special focus on different groups of persons with disabilities, with special focus in health and empowerment issues.

The fight against leprosy, prevention of disabilities due to leprosy and medical and socioeconomic rehabilitation of persons affected with leprosy is the centre of AIFO’s work. Over the past decade, AIFO has been promoting integration of all leprosy related activities in primary health care and community-based rehabilitation, specifically by promoting human rights and community based participatory approaches in which communities and local organizations play a key role. AIFO has a long experience in CBR and actively collaborates with Disability and Rehabilitation team of World Health Organisation (WHO/DAR) in areas of country programmes, research, learning materials, organisation of workshops.

All project support of AIFO is implemented through country programmes. Finally, AIFO also supports and organises Development Education activities in Italy.

MONITORING FORMS FOR AIFO SUPPORTED PROJECTS

All AIFO supported projects are asked to download and complete the "Annual Project Monitoring forms" - Download the forms according to your project activity in English, Portuguese or Italian.

Previous years data should be sent to AIFO office in Bologna before 15 March of the successive year. For example, the forms with 2016 data should be sent to AIFO office in Bologna by 15 March 2017. This data will be used for preparing AIFO's annual social balance. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. Download the forms according to your project activity in English, Portuguese or Italian.
